Dean is a Licensed Building Operator who has worked in Plant Operations for 6 years and has been employed at Sick Kids for 26 years since 1991. He initially started in Food Services and moved onto Housekeeping until he achieved his permanent full-time position as a Building Operator.

Hello, my name is Michelle and I have worked at The Hospital for Sick Children for 19 years in the Housekeeping Department. I have worked as a trained Patient Service Aide on 7BCD Pediatric Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Infectious Disease and moved onto Nephrology/Transplant/Chest/GI/Nutrition. Presently I am working as an Housekeeping Aide on the 4th floor covering GI Clinic, Psychiatry and Marnie’s Lounge. I’m currently a student at The University of Waterloo furthering my education in the Social Development Studies Program, pursuing a specialization degree in Social Policy and Social Action. At the heart of my accepting this position as Recording Secretary is to assist in making a difference to the local in which strength, connectivity, unity and respect for one another brings about change for the better.

“Hi! I have worked in the hospital field for over 20 years. My 10 experience at Princess Margaret Hospital and 5 years work experience at Sunnybrook Hospital has given me different perspective on the functioning of the bargaining unit.
I’ve been an employee of Sick Kids since 2012. I work as a Linen Porter/Transport Aide on a permanent part-time basis. I have worked as a union steward at Sick Kids since 2013, I also possess previous union steward experience from the Police Services Union and SEIU.
